One Room Challenge: Week 1

Although I am very new to blogging (can we say about two weeks into it) I came across the One Room Challenge Linking Event and couldn’t wait to be a part of it!

Basically, I have to choose one room in my house to makeover in 6 weeks and document my progress.

I have chosen the laundry room.  The reason is because when we moved into our house a year ago we decided not to pay the upgrade fee to the builder to have this space finished and so today it is a room bare down to the studs!

Other than the obvious (drywall, ceiling, door) I plan to add colour, storage/shelving, functionality and some pretty decor fit for a chic laundry room.

For inspiration I turned to none other than Pinterest.

I love the dramatic dark grey, but the space I’m working with is not that big and doesn’t have a lot of natural sunlight, so naturally I’m leaning towards something light grey, or a fresh sky blue or maybe even a sea foam green.

I like the airy, fresh and clean look–after all is it where you clean your dirty laundry.

So stay tuned and come back every Thursday to see my progress!

Hi Paulina! I love your blog header! I am so appreciative for the ORC because I’m discovering great blogs such as yours. I so look forward to seeing your progress since I too am updating my laundry room. Thanks for visiting my page! P.S. You had me a blue sky or sea foam green! If I had my way, my entire house would be a blue/green pale color scheme! I totally agree – it is very calming. Best of luck to you – I’ll be sure to check back next week to see your progress.

Hi Linda. Thanks for the compliment! Not strange at all–I fell in love with the graphite washer and dryer when we were shopping for appliances. I hope it looks good when I’m all done with it.
